In hopes of having another good option at the right-back position, Chelsea is planning to recruit Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters.
Reece James is Chelsea's number 1 right back at the moment, he was even trusted by coach Mauricio Pochettino to be the captain of the team. However, the player born in 1999 suffered too many injuries and had to constantly stop playing.
When Reece James did not play, Malo Gusto was a substitute. However, this player alone cannot play every week, and the Argentine coach wants to have another option in the right-back position in January 2024.

Sources from Give Me Sport said that Chelsea is planning to recruit Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters. Journalist Alex Crook revealed: “When it comes to Walker-Peters, there is no indication that he will extend his contract with Southampton.
West Ham is the first team to announce that they want to bring this defender back to the Premier League. Coach David Moyes is looking for competition for Vladimir Coufal and Emerson Palmieri. He was impressed with Walker-Peters' speed.
Chelsea also wants Walker-Peters, because he can play on both wings. I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea get Walker-Peters before the transfer window closes."
Coach Pochettino is also said to want to bring in another striker in this year's Eastern market. Chelsea are considering a shock move for Aston Villa's Jhon Duran to boost their attacking options in the second half of the season, wanting to loan the striker until the end of the season.
